A Diamond Springs traffic accident on December 19 resulted in major injuries in a collision involving three vehicles. Investigation Being Conducted Into Cause of Diamond Springs Traffic Accident

Both the Toyota and Hyundai sustained major front-end damage and broken front wheels. Cal Fire emergency responders discovered that at least one person involved in the crash had suffered major injuries and transported them to a hospital. The roadway was reopened around 4:51 p.m. An investigation is underway by the CHP traffic crash unit to determine fault and how the traffic collision occurred.

Compensation in an Injury Accident

Injured parties may seek compensation if an accident lawyer determines that another entity or person was negligent in causing an accident that injured them. As well as negotiating with the at-fault party’s insurance on their behalf, the lawyer is also able to help the injured party get the best possible outcome. Some of the types of compensation that are recoverable include:

  • Medical costs arising from the Diamond Springs traffic accident are recoverable from major expenses to out-of-pocket costs such as gas and parking at the doctor’s office. Medical costs include your ambulance, hospitalization and doctors’ fees. Also included are any tests, surgeries, medications and the cost of rehabilitative care. If your injury has not been resolved by the time of settlement, the lawyer can calculate future expenses and include those in the settlement.
  • Wages lost because the injured party cannot work due to the Diamond Springs traffic accident are recoverable. Lost wages also include the value of missed insurance and pension coverages as well as any tips, bonuses and other monies. If the injured person cannot return to their job due to their trauma and has to take work that pays less, the difference in salaries can be recovered. In cases where the injury results in a permanent disability, the salary can be recovered until they would have reached their age of retirement.
  • Pain and suffering compensation is recoverable. This category includes the physical trauma the injured party experienced. However, it also includes the emotional and psychological effects of the accident, such as depression, anxiety, sleep issues and others. Emotional issues are not unusual following an accident, especially one with injuries. A surprising number of people develop post-traumatic stress disorder as a result. However, treatment for this condition can be reimbursed.
