Placerville Crash Injures Vehicle Passenger

California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that one individual suffered serious injuries during a local car accident that took place on Friday, July 5, 2019. The accident reportedly involved one vehicle and occurred during the afternoon at a rural location on an area highway.

Crash Details

A 22-year-old man had been driving a gray-colored sedan west on Highway 50 near Placerville when he allegedly lost control of his vehicle. The car spun out and traveled off the highway, eventually striking a tree. According to reports, the sedan finally came to a rest on the westbound highway shoulder. The collision with the tree caused major damage to the passenger side of the vehicle, crumpling both the front and back doors inward.

Response

When officials arrived at the collision scene, they found that the vehicle passenger, a 23-year-old man, suffered major injuries during the wreck. The passenger was rushed to the Sutter Roseville Hospital to be given immediate medical attention. Police reported that the driver of the vehicle was allegedly placed under arrest for DUI leading to injury.

Investigation

As police continue to investigate possible causes of this accident, a full report on suspected factors has not yet been released. Accidents such as this one can be caused by multiple factors and often involve things outside of drivers’ control, such as a defective vehicle product or a hazardous roadway.

Recovering After Crash Injuries

After being injured in an accident, people often face a number of serious difficulties. Recovering from a major injury can be both physically and emotionally tough, and many people need help from their loved ones as well as extensive medical care in order to regain their health. Furthermore, injuries also often come with a variety of financial issues. Not only are medical costs typically high, but being injured often means having to take a significant amount of time off work.

In order to make up for these losses, people who’ve been injured in a car accident can file a personal injury claim. By doing so, crash survivors can hold negligent parties and/or insurance companies financially responsible for damages related to the accident, including lost income, medical costs, pain and suffering, and more.

If you were injured in a crash, it’s important to contact a Placerville personal injury lawyer as soon as you can so that you can get the advice you need to move forward. In most cases, injured parties have up to two years to file a claim. However, the sooner a lawyer can begin working, the more effective they can be. Additionally, some cases, such as those involving roadway defects, need to be filed within six months.
