Fleeing Driver Sought by Police Following Oroville Hit-and-Run Collision

Medics with the Butte County Fire Department arrived to assess the pedestrian’s injuries. However, additional information on the condition of the pedestrian was not provided. An investigation into the accident and search for the missing driver is ongoing with Butte County officers and CHP traffic collision investigators. The vehicle that fled the scene was described as a hybrid that continued along westbound Alverda Drive.

Negligent Drivers Cause Pedestrian Accidents

Negligent drivers can cause pedestrian accidents by ignoring traffic signs and signals, failing to observe the right of way, or behaving carelessly. Drivers who fail to yield or take proper precautions while driving can sometimes cause catastrophic injuries to pedestrians. It is common for pedestrians to suffer traumatic brain injuries, lacerations, fractures, and spinal cord injuries in pedestrian accidents.

Cars traveling through these areas at high speeds pose a greater risk of injury to pedestrians. In addition, drivers can be unaware that pedestrians are crossing in front of them or walking on sidewalks at intersections. Pedestrians should obey traffic signals and signs at intersections and use caution when crossing streets.

The Search for Hit-and-Run Drivers by an Injury Lawyer

The lawyer for a victim of a hit-and-run accident will work to find the person responsible for the accident. In addition to reviewing the police report filed by the officers who responded to the accident and reviewing surveillance footage, witnesses and bystanders may provide evidence. An injured client can also seek compensation for their injuries and losses with the help of an accident lawyer, in addition to identifying the driver.

Your Accident Injuries Can Be Paid by Uninsured/Underinsured Insurance

The negligent driver’s insurance company might not adequately compensate for your accident-related injuries. However, medical expenses up to your policy limit can be covered by your uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. Obtaining the financial recovery you deserve after an intersection accident can be difficult without the help of a knowledgeable injury lawyer.
