Pedestrian Dies in Vallejo Collision
Pedestrian Dies in Vallejo Collision

I’m Ed Smith, a Vallejo wrongful death lawyer. Recently, one man lost his life during an auto accident that occurred in Vallejo. Vallejo Police Department (VPD) officers reported that the crash happened in the early hours of the morning on Monday, August 20, 2018, in a residential area within the city. The accident involved a Vallejo woman who had been driving a small truck and a pedestrian. The pedestrian has not yet been identified by Solano County officials. My sympathy is sent out to the loved ones of the fatally injured pedestrian who are grieving over their lost family member and friend.

Crash Details

According to VPD, the accident happened at about 2:00 a.m. They were first notified about the accident by the driver of the pickup truck. The 28-year-old woman had been driving on Borgess Lane near the intersection of Agnes Court. While driving, the woman’s vehicle apparently struck a pedestrian. Reports state that the woman says she did not notice the impact and drove around three-quarters of a mile before she stopped her vehicle. After stopping, the woman discovered the pedestrian underneath her pickup truck.

Injuries

Emergency responders sent by VPD said that medics were immediately called to the accident scene. However, the pedestrian had suffered critical injuries and was not able to be stabilized. Medical officials tragically had to declare the man deceased at the crash location. The truck driver was reportedly not injured during the incident and no other parties were involved in the crash.

Investigation

VPD investigators report that they are trying to figure out what factors caused this fatal accident. Officers noted that the pickup driver was driving with a suspended license as well as an outstanding warrant. Officers also stated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been involved in the crash.

Further information about the crash has not yet been released. Factors that often play a role in pedestrian accidents include poor visibility, traffic violations, poor roadway design, and more.

Calling a Lawyer

After losing someone in an accident, people often go through a very difficult grieving process. Dealing with such strong emotions may make you want to postpone getting help from a lawyer. However, the people responsible for the accident usually don’t have to deal with grieving and instead are quick to begin defending themselves from legal action. Calling an attorney as soon as you are able can help prevent responsible parties from doing this and ensure that you get the payments you deserve.
