One Seriously Injured in Highway 36 Auto Accident

On Sunday, July 19, 2020, one person suffered major injuries as the result of a Highway 36 auto accident. According to reports issued by California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision occurred in a rural area on the western side of Shasta County and reportedly involved one vehicle and did not injure any other individuals. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.

Collision Information

The accident occurred at around 2:55 p.m. on Highway 36 near mile marker 3 in the area between Wildwood road and Harrison Gulch. Specific details about what happened before the crash took place have not been reported. However, police indicated that a vehicle was headed east on the highway when, for unknown reasons, it traveled off-road and crashed into a tree. During the incident, the driver was reportedly partially ejected through a vehicle window.

Response

CHP dispatched an emergency response team to the collision scene directly after receiving notification of the incident. At the scene, responders discovered that the driver had suffered major injuries. Medical officials stated that the individual suffered a possible fractured arm as well as multiple lacerations.

Officials called for a helicopter ambulance, which reportedly arrived at the crash scene at 3:27 p.m. and flew the injured individual to a hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Investigation

As the Trinity-Shasta area CHP investigates the accident, officers haven’t reported a suspected accident cause. With accidents like this one, there can be more than one causal factor. Furthermore, many accident causes are non-driver factors, or things that motorists can’t control. Non-driver car accident factors can include defective roadways, malfunctioning car parts, and more.

Recovering After a Serious Crash

People that suffer car accident injuries are often left in a very difficult situation. The process of recovering your health can be painful, stressful, and often takes months or even years. In some cases, car accident survivors are left with life-long health issues like chronic pain or limited mobility. Furthermore, the medical care required for accident injury recovery is often highly expensive.

Often, injured parties need to pay for surgeries, hospital stays, ambulance rides, physical therapy, and more in order to fully recover. Altogether, these medical procedures can add up to a massive amount of medical bills. Paying for the care you need can be hard or even impossible if your injuries have affected your income.
