One Individual Suffers Fatal Injuries in Redding Motorcycle Crash

On December 31, 2020, one person sustained fatal injuries as the result of a Redding motorcycle crash. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Department is withholding the name of the decedent and will do so until their family has received notification. California Highway Patrol (CHP) has reported that the accident occurred in the rural Jones Valley area to the northeast of Redding and involved only a single vehicle. The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.

Crash Details

The accident occurred just prior to midnight on Bear Mountain Road close to the intersection of Hidden Valley Drive. According to police, the motorcyclist was driving south on Bear Mountain when, for unknown reasons, they lost control of their motorcycle. The motorcycle veered off-road and threw the cyclist to the ground. Further details about the circumstances of this tragic crash haven’t been provided.

After receiving notification of the accident, dispatchers rushed a team of emergency responders to the site. When responders reached the location of the crash, they found that the motorcyclist had suffered critical trauma. Sadly, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other individuals were reported to have been involved in this crash.

Investigation of Redding Motorcycle Crash

As CHP continues to conduct an investigation into the possible causes of this accident, there have not been any reports issued regarding suspected causes. Accidents like this one can be complicated and, in many cases, happen because of more than one factor and many common motorcycle accident factors are things that motorcyclists cannot control. Such non-motorcyclist collision factors include things like defective motorcycle parts, dangerously damaged pavement, and more. In these cases, parties such as motorcycle manufacturers and government entities may be considered responsible for the collision.

Private Investigations are Critical

Investigating fatal motorcycle accidents can be very difficult. Because police aren’t able to ask the motorcyclist about the events that took place, it’s possible that important evidence will never be uncovered during investigations. If this happens, families may not be able to hold at-fault parties financially responsible for their losses.

To ensure you can obtain the payments you deserve, it’s vital to reach out to a wrongful death lawyer. An experienced attorney can conduct their own investigation into the accident while prioritizing you and your family’s right to fair compensation.

Finding an Excellent Lawyer

The emotional impact of losing someone in a sudden accident can be immense, and, during such a stressful time, people often want to delay calling a lawyer. However, compensation for lost income, funeral costs, and other damages are very important, and having an attorney early on can be critical to your case. Fortunately, getting in touch with a trusted attorney in your area isn’t difficult. To learn how, watch this video:
