One Killed in Crash on Highway 99 in Madera County
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) revealed in a report that one party was killed in a crash on Highway 99 in Madera County on the night of Friday, December 10, 2021. The fatal pedestrian accident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on State Route 99 near Highway 152.
Details on the Crash That Killed One Party on Highway 99 in Madera County
CHP traffic officers revealed in a preliminary report that a man pulled his vehicle over along the side of Highway 99 to check something in the back of his van. As he approached the rear of his vehicle, a pickup truck that was headed northbound on State Route 99 near Highway 152 allegedly veered to the right and onto the shoulder. The pickup truck reportedly crashed into the man before colliding with the van.
Authorities indicated that the pickup truck driver sustained injuries described as minor. Two women were inside the van at the time of the traffic collision, and both are expected to be okay. Sadly, the van driver succumbed to his injuries. Officials have identified him as Afroz Ali, 63, of Fresno. Additional details on the fatal car accident were not immediately released by authorities.
