One Hurt During Trinity County Motorcycle Accident

On Sunday, May 24, 2020, one person suffered severe injuries during a Trinity County motorcycle accident. California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports indicated that the collision involved a single vehicle and happened on State Route 299 east of Redding. The injured man has been identified as 59-year-old John Anderson, a resident of Martinez in the Bay Area and father of three children. Martinez was still hospitalized at the time of reporting and his family has started a fundraiser to help pay for his medical expenses. The fundraiser can be found here.

Crash Information

CHP reported that this accident occurred in the early afternoon sometime shortly before 1:20 p.m. Police said that preliminary investigations suggest that Anderson had been driving his Harley motorcycle west on SR-299 when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of his vehicle. The motorcycle drifted toward the edge of the highway and eventually left the road before crashing into a rock cliff face between Big Bar and Burnt Ranch in the area of Swede Creek Road.

Response

The accident was discovered by a CHP sergeant who drove by the collision site. The sergeant immediately notified CHP dispatch and called for a helicopter ambulance to be sent to the scene. Additional CHP officers from the Trinity River Area were also sent out to the accident site.

When emergency medical personnel arrived, they found that Anderson was unconscious but still breathing. He was placed on the helicopter and rushed to the Redding Mercy Medical Center. Information from his family members stated that he suffered multiple injuries, including road rash, fractured bones, and a severe traumatic brain injury.

Investigation

Police are still investigating possible factors involved in this crash. So far, no suspected factors have been confirmed. Motorcycle accidents like this one are common and can involve multiple causes. In many cases, these accidents happen because of things bikers don’t have the ability to control like faulty motorcycle parts, phantom vehicles, or defective roads.

Recovering from Serious Injuries

Suffering injuries during an accident can have a huge impact on your life and the lives of your loved ones. In many cases, serious injuries affect your ability to move or think clearly. These symptoms can make it difficult or impossible to live your normal life, and many crash survivors need to spend a significant amount of time recovering and adjusting after being injured.

While severe injuries can cause a lot of physical pain and emotional stress, they are also likely to cause a serious financial burden. Injuries often leave people unable to do their jobs, resulting in lost income, and paying for the necessary medical costs can seem impossible.

These concerns are serious, but crash survivors can frequently get help from a Redding personal injury lawyer. By contacting an attorney and pursuing a personal injury claim, survivors can frequently obtain compensation to cover their losses.
