Single-Vehicle Crash in Fairfield Injures One

One person suffered injuries during a single-vehicle crash in Fairfield that took place on Sunday, December 22, 2019. According to information from the Fairfield Police Department (FPD), the accident happened on a major city street in the early morning. Hospital staff indicated that the involved driver suffered major injuries. However, updates on the drivers’ condition have not been reported. FPD is currently investigating the incident.

Crash Details

FPD stated that the accident occurred at 2:15 a.m. on Travis Boulevard close to the intersection of 2nd Street near Solano Town Center. For unknown reasons, a driver lost control of their vehicle and veered off the road, eventually crashing head-on into a nearby tree.

FPD sent out emergency staff to the accident location right away. When they reached the site, responders determined that the driver had suffered serious trauma and had him taken to a local hospital via ambulance. No other vehicles or people were reported to have been involved in this accident.

Investigation

As FPD continues its investigation into what may have caused this crash, no suspected factors have been mentioned in reports. Single-vehicle accidents are common and happen for a number of reasons, many of which drivers have no control over. For instance, a defective tire or brake system can put drivers in a dangerous situation or a large pothole may throw them off of their intended path.

Major Injuries and Recovery

Car accidents can involve a tremendous amount of force, leaving drivers and passengers vulnerable to sustain a large variety of injuries. A serious car accident injury can be life-changing, and many people face a long, difficult path to recovering their health after being in a crash.

Crash survivors are frequently hospitalized after the accident and stay in the hospital for an extended period of time while they undergo multiple medical procedures that aim to heal the damage done during the collision. After being released from the hospital, survivors often face difficulties with mobility and even accessibility in their own home. In order to return to normal life, many need to take medications and/or undergo extensive physical therapy. Others are left with symptoms that affect them permanently and dramatically alter their lives.

All of this can feel overwhelming, especially if you are unsure of how you will be able to afford your medical expenses and other damages while you are recovering. Fortunately, many crash survivors can claim payments to cover these costs by filing personal injury claims.
