Open Mic Night
Date: Wednesday, October 17, 2018
Time: 8:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Location: 3101 Sunset Boulevard #6a, Rocklin, CA 95677
Admission: $5 tickets
Come grab a refreshing brew and observe the open mic event at Blacktop’s Comedy. Whether you want to attend as a performer or spectator, this will be a fun event for all. There will be newcomers and experienced comedians distributing fresh material to the audience. No one will be downgraded for bombing, as it is part of the process of stand-up. Each set will be approximately 5 minutes long, with a total of 15 spots reserved for those that desire to get on stage. A night of laughter is always guaranteed at Blacktop!

Rocket Science at the Rocklin Library

Calling all science-loving kids to the Rocklin Library for a once-in-a-lifetime experiment. Intended for kids between the ages of 6 – 12, participants will get to build their very own straw soda rocket and watch it launch into the air. The challenge is to design a rocket with basic materials, including paper, soda straw, tape, and scissors. Kids will walk away from this fun activity with knowledge regarding motion, force, and problem-solving skills.
Pumpkin Patch Festival
Date: Saturday, October 20, 2018
Time: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Location: 5465 Pacific St, Rocklin, CA 95677
Admission: Free
Saturday festivities are occurring weekly throughout October at Deer Creek Farm’s pumpkin patch. This event is great for families with kids, as there will be tons of free carnival games, candy, and family activities. There will be a dedicated play area for younger children, in addition to a storytime theater where children can expand their imaginative and creative side. All event proceeds will go towards supporting local aged-out foster youth.
