Holidays are just a little bit better in the city of Stockton, California. Now that the season is among us, you may be wondering what Stockton has in store for its residents and visitors. There are too many upcoming community activities to fit in this one article, but I have gathered a list of fun, diverse, and exciting events. Continue reading, and I am confident that you will find an event to attend with a family member, a significant other, or an old friend. After all, the holidays are about spending time with those who mean the most to us.

Little Shop of Horrors @ That’s Showbiz

Date: Sunday, November 10, 2019

Time: 2:00 p.m.

Location: 1744 Pacific Ave Stockton, CA 95204

Admission: $15 – $25

Little Shop of Horrors is a sci-fi smash musical that represents a devious and delicious blend of Hollywood and Broadway influences. The musical has devoured the hearts of theatre lovers for more than 30 years! When a floral assistant stumbles upon a new and unique breed of plant, he is promised good fortune and riches as long as he keeps the plant alive by feeding it. The plant needs one thing and one thing only for breakfast, lunch, and dinner – blood! All shows are held in an intimate, cabaret-style theater, with refreshments including alcoholic beverages available before, during, and after the show.

2019 Fine Arts Festival

Date: Friday, November 22 – Saturday, November 23, 2019

Time: Friday (4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.) & Saturday (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)

Location: 920 W. March Lane, Stockton, CA 95207

Admission: Free

This two-day festival showcases local northern California juried artists that have received national praise for their work. Visitors can expect to see art pieces in the form of handcrafted clay (sculptural, functional, garden, and cooking ware), wood, glass, jewelry, paintings, wearable art, and much more. There will also be a free children’s art center on both days, where kids can visit a small station to make some art of their own.

Joaquin Tree of Lights Ceremony

Date: Saturday, November 26, 2019

Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Location: 5151 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA 95207

Admission: Free

Every October through December, Hospice of San Joaquin organizes the annual Tree of Lights throughout San Joaquin County. Everyone is welcome to purchase a light to dedicate and memorialize a loved one that has passed away or to honor someone that has an extraordinary presence in your life. Proceeds from the light purchases and donations will go towards the agency’s programs and services for terminally ill patients and their families.
