North Highlands Fatal Motorcycle Crash

North Highlands Motorcycle Crash

I’m Ed Smith, a North Highlands motorcycle accident attorney. A man on a motorcycle was fatally injured on Sunday, May 15, 2016.

What Happened?

A motorcyclist lost his life in a collision with another vehicle while trying to flee from officers early Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Officers from the CHP indicated they tried to make a traffic stop on the motorcyclist around 2:20 a.m. along Watt Avenue in North Highlands.

The cyclist appeared to be pulling over to the side of the road but sped away from officers and headed down Madison Avenue, according to a CHP press release.

When CHP officers came upon the intersection of Madison Avenue and Hillsdale Boulevard, they saw that the motorcycle had been involved in a crash with another vehicle.

Sadly, the motorcyclist died at the hospital from injuries he sustained in the motorcycle collision.

Was the Motorcyclist Wearing a Helmet?

Yes. CHP investigators said the man was wearing a helmet.

Was Anyone Else Injured?

No other injury information was available.

What Caused the North Highlands Fatal Motorcycle Crash?

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. It typically takes seven to ten days for the CHP to prepare a traffic collision report. The report will discuss their findings.

Sometimes traffic collision reports can be inconclusive or in error. When a party to an accident dies, there is no way to get his or her side of the story.

It is important to contact an experienced motorcycle accident attorney if you or a loved one was seriously injured or died in a crash. An experienced lawyer may be able to help identify the true nature of the crash.
