Hit-and-Run Involving Multiple Vehicles Reported on Powerline Road

A hit-and-run involving multiple vehicles was reported in Nicolaus, south of Plumas Lake, on November 12. The accident occurred along Powerline Road between Striplin and Lee roads around 6:20 p.m. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) said the accident involved a FedEx truck, a Toyota Camry and an additional vehicle and occurred in a gas station parking lot.

Major Injuries Occur in Hit-and-Run Involving Multiple Vehicles

One of the individuals involved in the crash called authorities and said the FedEx truck struck the Toyota, and then that vehicle struck his. The driver of the Toyota reportedly suffered possible major injuries in the crash. As CHP traffic accident detectives investigate, they search for the fleeing driver involved in the collision.

Causes of Collisions Involving FedEx Trucks

Federal Express trucks can be involved in collisions in a number of ways. If a driver is negligent and causes an injury accident, they may be held responsible for the financial losses and pain and suffering they caused. In others, the company may also be liable for injuries or a third party driving for FedEx. Common causes of an accident caused by a negligent driver of a delivery vehicle include:

  • The driver may have been speeding, distracted, or committing another type of traffic infraction.
  • The driver may have been using over-the-counter, prescription or illegal drugs to stay alert.
  • Improper maintenance of the vehicle may have led to the accident.
  • The driver may have been on the road longer than federal law allows.
  • The company did not properly screen the driver.

Is It Possible to Locate a FedEx Truck Involved in a Hit-and-Run?

Locating a FedEx driver that caused a hit-and-run involving multiple vehicles is certainly possible. FedEx uses GPS to track all of its drivers. As long as the location and time of the accident are known, the driver can be found. An injury lawyer can find the evidence to show negligence from all parties and help you recover compensation for your injuries, lost wages and physical and emotional trauma.

Do I Need a Lawyer to Recover Compensation?

If you want to recover fair compensation, an accident attorney can help. They determine which party/parties were negligent and caused your hit-and-run involving multiple vehicles. The lawyer also uses their investigators to comb the area where the crash occurred for supporting evidence. In addition, they check for surveillance footage in the area that might have captured the accident on tape.

They interview the witnesses to the accident to gather corroborating testimonies and review the police report for errors that need to be corrected. All of the information gathered is used to construct a strong case, enabling the injured person to recover the compensation they are due.
