Dillard Road Accident in Wilton Injures at Least One Person

A multiple-vehicle crash in Sacramento County occurred on September 30 that injured at least one person. The accident happened at Wilton around 7:41 p.m. on Dillard Road, just west of Riley Road. The accident report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that the crash involved a Chevy 1500 pickup and two automobiles.

Authorities Investigating Cause of Wilton Multiple-Vehicle Crash

All of the vehicles were left undrivable by the collision, and debris was strewn across the roadway. A code 3 ambulance, which indicates an emergency situation, was requested at the scene, as well as an additional medic. At least two of the vehicles had to be towed from the scene of the multiple-vehicle crash, including the pickup. An investigation into the cause of the collision is underway by the CHP to determine its cause.

Being Injured in a Multiple-Vehicle Crash

Although any traffic accident can cause serious injuries, they are more likely to be significant when they are caused by a multiple-vehicle crash. During the initial impact, airbags deploy, and seat belts help restrain and protect those inside a vehicle. However, once those airbags deflate, the person inside is no longer protected from injuries. In addition, a defective seat belt can let go, which can have disastrous consequences.

A multiple-vehicle crash can have a number of causes and drivers who are at fault for the collision. A personal injury lawyer can help an injured person obtain the compensation they deserve, which can cover all of their medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Some of the ways in which a multiple-vehicle crash can happen include:

  • One driver is tailgating another and can’t stop to avoid a rear-end collision if the motorist in front slows down suddenly.
  • A driver decides to change lanes and either doesn’t check their rear-view mirror correctly, or the motorist in the next lane refuses to yield the right of way.
  • A speeding driver is cutting in and out of traffic and can’t stop in time to avoid a collision, setting off a multiple-vehicle crash.
  • Another driver is distracted by texting on their cell phone, which removes their eyes, focus, and hands from the wheel of the vehicle and causes them to become involved in the accident.
  • An intoxicated driver causes a collision by weaving in and out of the lanes and speeding up and slowing down. The drunk driver cannot track correctly with their eyes, their reflexes are affected and they can’t control their vehicle.

Successful Resolution of a Multiple-Vehicle Crash

My team and I have successfully handled many compensation claims by clients for accidents suffered in a multiple-vehicle accident. We conduct an investigation into the crash to gather the evidence to support your claim. This includes:

  • The investigators examine the police report to ensure it is accurate and conduct interviews with the witnesses. In some cases, a witness taped the accident on their cell phone as it happened.
  • They perform forensic reconstruction of the accident. This indicates the way the vehicles involved in the crash were positioned before the accident, when it happened and afterward. This type of evidence is used in civil court cases and when negotiating on the client’s behalf with the insurance company.
  • Area traffic cameras are examined to see if the accident was captured on video. If it was, those records can be subpoenaed.
