What to Expect from a Personal Injury Claim for a Truck Accident

When a motor vehicle collision in Stanislaus County involves a large commercial truck, the potential for traumatic injuries or even death is significantly increased. The size and weight of semi-trucks have a great influence over the forces involved in accidents. A personal injury case arising from a big rig crash may be challenging not only because of the elements of the case that must be proven but also determining all liable parties involved. Injured parties in such situations may be persuaded into accepting a settlement offer made by the insurance company for the negligent truck driver or trucking company. However, it is essential to understand that any initial settlement offer will not fully account for anything near what injured parties need and deserve to move forward with their lives.

The goal behind any civil case arising from a truck accident and resulting injuries is to hold the at-fault party liable for the harm their actions have caused others. The accomplishment of this goal is not always easy and generally requires the assistance of an experienced accident attorney. The reason is that these cases require extensive independent investigations, considerable knowledge of state and federal laws that govern the trucking industry, and the necessary resources to take on difficult insurance companies and trucking firms. Unlike the other party, a lawyer will do everything in their power to ensure that parties injured in tractor-trailer collisions are fairly compensated for the injuries and damages they have endured.
