Motor Vehicle Recalls Affect Toyota Safety
Toyota has issued massive motor vehicle recalls that affects model years of more than a decade of Toyota Land Cruisers and Tacomas. In addition, a motor vehicle recall is being made for the Lexus LX 570. The recalls of these more than 130,000 vehicles are voluntary, and no plans have been made yet by Toyota to do repairs. However, the company expects to notify all owners and address the problem sometime in February 2019. Owners may have their questions about the motor vehicle recalls answered by calling (800) 331-4331, which is the Toyota Experience Center or (800) 255-3987 for Lexus models.
Defective Seat Belts and Air Bags
About 87,000 Lexus LS 570s and Land Cruisers are on the motor vehicle recall list. The models of the Lexus LS 570s manufactured between 2008 and 2019, along with the Land Cruisers, may have a serious problem with the seat belt tension sensor. Toyota says it has discovered that the sensor can fail with time. Also, the airbags for the front-seat passenger, knees, and side may become deactivated. The Toyota recall for this problem may affect nearly 90,000 vehicles.
Toyota Tacoma Recall
Around 44,000 Toyota Tacomas are being placed on the list of motor vehicle recalls. This is because the brake master cylinder may be defective. Toyota says that with time the cylinder can become damaged. A damaged cylinder can cause an internal leak of the brake fluid. This can endanger the driver and passengers when the brakes performance becomes reduced and increases the distance needed to stop the vehicle when the brakes are applied.

Serious injuries are more likely to occur when safety features such as the vehicle’s airbags and seat belt might be compromised, particularly if the vehicle is one that is already at risk of rollovers such as an SUV or light truck. The risk of an accident also increases if the brakes are defective, and the vehicle suddenly cannot stop as quickly as it should.
