Modesto Fatal Car Crash
I’m Ed Smith, a Modesto car accident attorney. A two-vehicle collision occurred on the morning of Wednesday, October 26, 2016 in the vicinity of Davis High School in Modesto. Unfortunately, one of the drivers in the accident did not survive due to the severe extent of their injuries.
What Happened?
A motorist behind the wheel of their Mercedes-Benz C240 was driving along northbound Tully Road shortly after 9:00 am. Witnesses reported that they observed the Mercedes driver speeding at an approximate speed of 50 miles per hour when they ran the red traffic light at the intersection of Rumble Road and Tully Road. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle crashed into a Lexus ES 300. The drivers of both vehicles were identified as males by officers from the Modesto Police Department. Officer Billy Boyle stated that the motorist of the Mercedes was held in an ambulance after the accident until officers arrived at the scene to conduct a drug evaluation.

Were There Other Injuries?
The driver of the Mercedes sustained minor injuries and the driver of the Lexus passed away at the scene due to the grave nature of his injuries.
Mercedes Driver Possibly Linked to Hit-and-Run Crash
The driver of the Mercedes has also been suspected of crashing into another motorist’s vehicle several times at the crossroads of Briggsmore Avenue and Tully Road. The other driver’s vehicle was identified as a Kia according to Heather Graves, a spokeswoman from the Police Department. Authorities also reported that investigators are attempting to determine whether the collision with the Kia was intentional or accidental. This factor of evidence in an automobile accident is crucial to investigators because it distinguishes the case to be declared as assault with a deadly weapon or a hit-and-run.
