MODESTO, CA – A motorcyclist was injured in a collision involving a big rig early Thursday morning in Modesto, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers responded shortly after 7 a.m. to reports of two separate accidents on northbound I-5, just north of Sperry Avenue. One of the incidents involved a motorcycle and a large commercial truck.

The motorcyclist sustained a broken leg and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. We hope for a smooth and full recovery.

The slow lane, which was temporarily closed to allow emergency crews to respond, has since reopened.
