Accident at Intersection of Diablo Drive and Roseville Road

A major injury traffic collision occurred in Antelope on June 13 when two cars collided. The accident involved a Toyota and Buick LaCrosse, which collided at the intersection of Diablo Drive and Roseville Road shortly after 12:00 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) report. The Toyota was left blocking the intersection, while the Buick ended up on the corner grass in front of a gas station.

Medics with the Sacramento Fire Department arrived to assess those involved in the collision and determined that one patient had suffered a major injury. That individual was taken to a hospital to be treated. An investigation into the cause of the major injury traffic collision is ongoing.

Auto Accident Compensation

Many clients ask what is meant by compensation in an auto accident. In this instance, it means that the medical expenses, lost wages, and the pain and suffering you suffered are considered in terms of their financial value and recovered. Unless this happens, the injured party carries the brunt of the monetary loss.

At our firm, we believe that the negligent, at-fault party should pay for the damages they caused. Usually, their insurance company will pay the compensation to the limit defined by their policy. However, in some cases, the at-fault driver is underinsured or not insured at all. When this happens, a lawsuit against the negligent party can make up the difference. If the at-fault driver is not insured and does not have the means to pay for the damages, we help our clients find a different way to be compensated.

Negotiations Are an Important Part of Your Major Injury Case

Only 5 percent of all personal injury cases go to court. The remainder are settled outside of the courtroom. This is where the experience your attorney has when it comes to auto accidents comes into play. For instance, an experienced lawyer knows that the insurer will undoubtedly offer a low ball payout. This means that the amount they offer will not adequately cover the financial damages.

The insurance company does this because they know that the injured party (the plaintiff) has bills to pay and is probably out of work. It is common for the plaintiff to want to get back to a sense of normalcy after an accident. However, once this low ball amount is accepted, there is no going back. Even if additional treatment is needed, the plaintiff will be forced to pay for it themselves.

The Way an Attorney Can Help

At our firm, we do what needs to be done to successfully resolve your case. It starts with a thorough investigation of the accident scene. Our investigators perform accident reconstruction to determine liability. We check to see if intersection traffic lights are functioning and whether signage is able to be seen and well-maintained. Our investigators also look for surveillance tapes that show how the accident happened and other photographic proof of liability from nearby businesses and bystanders. We also interview witnesses and check the police report for mistakes.

Once this data is accumulated, we check with medical experts to determine the length and type of treatment that will be needed. Our financial advisors will tally the monetary extent of the damages in the present and in the future. Now we are ready to negotiate with the insurance company. If a successful resolution is not forthcoming, we will take the case to court.
