Two Vehicles Crash in a Lodi Off-Road Accident on Peltier Road

Two vehicles were involved in a Lodi off-road accident on May 12, which resulted in injuries. The crash happened on Peltier Road at the westbound Highway 99 frontage around 3:08 p.m. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), when they collided, both a Nissan Altima and a Honda Civic involved exited the roadway.

Authorities Investigating the Lodi Off-Road Accident Cause

The Honda was located around 30 feet off the road, and the Nissan exhibited front-end damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Police did not provide information on the extent of injuries to those involved. Detectives with the CHP traffic collision unit are investigating to find out why the crash happened and to assign the fault.

Navigating the Aftermath of a Lodi Off-Road Accident

Following an injury collision, initiating the legal process begins with pinpointing the responsible party. Once fault is established, the party who was injured can proceed to file a claim against the negligent driver’s insurer. This is the usual course of action for the majority of traffic accidents leading to injuries. Should the insurance firm challenge the compensation claim, elevating the matter to court becomes a possibility. However, this only occurs in about five percent of all auto accident cases.

The Importance of an Accident Attorney in Managing Your Injury Case

Dealing with the aftermath of an accident on your own can be difficult, given the complex legal procedures involved, especially if the negligent party refuses to accept responsibility. Employing the expertise of an accident attorney is advantageous for individuals injured in a Lodi off-road accident, ensuring they have a seasoned ally familiar with personal injury legislation.

A lawyer safeguards your interests, oversees the documentation and investigation into the accident’s cause, and guides you through the complexities of insurance dealings. Importantly, a competent attorney is equipped to negotiate effectively, securing a settlement that accurately mirrors the seriousness of your trauma.

Securing Compensation After a California Traffic Accident

Those who suffer injuries caused by a negligent driver in a two-vehicle crash are entitled to pursue various compensation types, essential for addressing the damages sustained:

  • Coverage for medical bills includes costs associated with hospital stays, surgeries, medications, rehabilitation, and future healthcare needs.
  • Compensation for lost wages during the recovery period absent from work.
  • Reimbursement for diminished earning capacity, reflecting the injury’s impact on future earning potential and any resulting wage discrepancies.
  • Remuneration for physical discomfort and the suffering endured.
  • Compensation for emotional anguish, addressing the psychological sequelae like stress or depression arising from the accident.
  • Compensation for loss of consortium addresses the non-financial impact of the damage to the relationship with a spouse.
  • Punitive damages: Awarded in rare instances of egregious negligence or malicious intent, serving as a financial punishment to the offender.
