Livermore Accident Kills Tracy Man

A Tracy man was driving along the freeway in Livermore during the morning of Monday, May 29, 2017. Sadly, the man was involved in a multi-vehicle accident that caused him to suffer fatal injuries.

What Happened?

A 21-year-old man from Tracy was driving his 2005 Hyundai eastbound along Interstate 580 in the vicinity of First Street at approximately 2:30 am. For unknown reasons, the man’s vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway. A 2015 Toyota was approaching the man’s vehicle and was unable to avoid the Hyundai. The 2015 Toyota crashed into the Hyundai moments before a 2008 Toyota also struck the Hyundai.

What Caused the Accident?

The cause of the accident is still under investigation by authorities. Oftentimes, Traffic Collision Reports take seven to ten days to be processed. A preliminary report from California Highway Patrol (CHP) suggested that neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash. Sometimes traffic reports can be in error or inconclusive pertaining to fault. It is important, especially when someone has lost their life, to contact an experiened personal injury lawyer who can thoroughly investigate the accident scene and study the sequence of events leading up to the collision to help pinpoint cause.

Was Anybody Injured?

The 32-year-old Tracy man driving the 2015 Toyota was uninjured. The 24-year-old Modesto man in the 2008 Toyota suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the collision fatally injured the 21-year-old Tracy man in the Hyundai.

Our deepest sympathies are with the family members of the young man that passed away in this tragic multi-vehicle accident.

What to Do When Your Car Stalls on the Freeway

When your vehicle stalls along the freeway, it is best to turn on your emergency light indicators and contact 9-1-1 as soon as possible. Operators will dispatch an officer to your location and safely assist you with your disabled vehicle. It is not wise to exit your vehicle and work on it on the side of the road unless it is absolutely necessary. The reason for this stems from the amount of inattentive drivers on the roadway that may be texting and driving, drunk driving or taking part in other distractions in their vehicle.

Recent Accident Involving Disabled Vehicle

A fatal accident took place during early May of this year in Roseville, California where a man was changing his tire along the side of Interstate 80. A driver that was under the influence of marijuana was approaching the man and crashed into him. Unfortunately, the impact from the collision caused the man to suffer a wrongful death.
