Authorities Determining Fault in Lakeport Motorcycle Crash

The injured rider was taken to Sutter Lakeside Hospital in Lakeport for medical care and additional evaluation. CHP traffic detectives are examining the crash to determine fault and how the incident occurred.

Accident Investigation for Injuries After a Lakeport Motorcycle Crash

An accident lawyer investigates an accident to determine the party at fault when a driver’s negligence or another entity injures a motorcycle rider. We can determine fault through several methods, including those listed below:

  • Our investigators will gather evidence and take photographs at the Lakeport motorcycle crash injury scene. They photograph the damage to the vehicles and surrounding scene and look for roadway maintenance problems that might have contributed to the collision.
  • We will search the area for surveillance cameras to check if the collision was recorded. If a camera recorded the accident, the lawyer could subpoena the footage for evidence.
  • We will conduct an accident reconstruction to position the vehicle relative to the motorcyclist before and during the crash. This information can point toward fault, and courts and insurance companies accept accident reconstruction as evidence.
  • We will review the police report for accuracy and evidence. If we find any errors that could affect the injured party’s claim, we’ll request an addendum to correct the police report.

The Process of Recovering Compensation After a Serious Pedestrian Accident

If a motorist is at fault for the crash, a motorcycle rider can receive compensation for all their medical expenses from a Lakeport pedestrian injury accident. The injured party can also recover lost wages for the time they could not work. They can claim compensation for future wages and medical bills if the injury persists beyond the settlement period. Additionally, we can recover compensation for the injured person’s physical and emotional suffering.

Filing a Claim Within the Statute of Limitations

California’s statute of limitations for filing a personal injury claim is two years. Waiting beyond this period means the court will not consider the case. However, waiting the full two years to file is not advisable.

Evidence can vanish, and witnesses can become hard to find over a two-year period. A witness’s memory may also fade over time. Contacting an injury lawyer immediately after your accident is crucial for a successful outcome.
