Can a Pittsburg Rollover Crash Exacerbate Injuries?

Tremendous forces are often involved in a rollover accident, much of which is expected to be absorbed by the roof of the vehicle involved in the incident. When a vehicle roof fails to provide adequate protection to occupants inside the car, an auto manufacturer may be held financially accountable for any exacerbated injuries and damages. This is possible so long as it can be proven that the automaker has failed to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 216 regarding roof crush resistance. FMVSS 216 states that a car roof must be able to withstand at least 1.5 times the weight of the vehicle. Keep in mind that a car that fails to meet this standard in a rollover must be preserved until it has been examined by an experienced personal injury lawyer in Pittsburg. An experienced accident attorney will determine whether the vehicle failed to meet FMVSS 216, and if you have the grounds for an auto products liability claim.
