Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident Kills Elderly Man
I’m Ed Smith, a Sacramento hit-and-run injury attorney. Officers from the Sacramento Police Department (SPD) are investigating a hit-and-run crash that took place during the evening hours of Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Unfortunately, the crash caused an elderly pedestrian to suffer fatal injuries.
What Happened?
An elderly pedestrian was walking in a parking lot at 2222 Northgate Boulevard. At approximately 6:50 pm, the elderly man was struck by an SUV. The alleged reckless driver of the SUV immediately fled the scene after crashing into the elderly pedestrian.
Was the Pedestrian Okay?
The elderly pedestrian that was struck by the SUV was identified as 89-year-old Ramon Flores from Sacramento. Flores was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. Records from the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office indicated that Flores passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017, a day after the incident.

Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident Investigation
Traffic investigators from the SPD are handling the hit-and-run pedestrian accident case. Authorities have not yet released additional information about the incident.

A hit-and-run pedestrian accident is when a motorist accidentally crashes into a pedestrian and flees from the scene without disclosing any form of identification or rendering aid to those who have suffered injuries. This type of accident is one of the most severe traffic incidents because a pedestrian has no form of protection against a moving motor vehicle.
