Hit-and-Run Accident on Cedar Avenue
Officials in Modesto reported a hit-and-run accident with injuries on Cedar Avenue on the morning of Saturday, June 18, 2022. The incident took place in the area of Cedar Avenue and High Street, according to the Modesto Police Department.
Details on the Hit-and-Run Accident on Cedar Avenue
A preliminary report by Modesto PD revealed that one vehicle was headed westbound on Cedar Avenue approaching the area and reportedly ran a stop sign posted at the intersection. This was where the vehicle collided with another at the intersection. Authorities said that the driver reportedly fled the scene following the car accident.
The occupants of the vehicle struck by the hit-and-run driver were able to exit the car. Several Good Samaritans assisted the driver in removing their two-month-old child from the mangled vehicle. All occupants of the car were taken to an area hospital for treatment. The infant was transported via air ambulance to the hospital as a precautionary measure. Modesto PD has not yet released additional details on the incident nor information on the suspect driver and vehicle.
