Detectives Investigating Head-On Impact Crash

Two major injuries were reported. Cal Fire emergency responders arrived and performed emergency resuscitation methods on one patient, which was unsuccessful. Both of the vehicles sustained major front-end damage. The CHP traffic accident detectives are investigating the head-on accident to determine fault.

The Dangers of Head-On Collisions

The most deadly type of traffic accident is a head-on collision. As reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), they are involved in only 2 percent of all car accidents but are responsible for over 10 percent of deaths. A high-speed collision between two vehicles produces a much greater impact than a low-speed collision.

Wrongful Death Accidents

In the case of wrongful death, a driver or another entity caused the demise of your loved one as a result of their negligence. The spouse and children of the deceased may be able to recover compensation for wrongful death when other drivers were negligent and caused the collision. There are several types of damages that are recoverable:

  • Expenses associated with the end of life, such as funerals and burials, are recouped.
  • Up until their retirement age, the deceased’s income, including their job benefits, can be recovered.
  • Surviving spouses may seek compensation for loss of affection and companionship.
  • In the event of parental guidance and nurturing being lost, the children who were supported by at least half of the decedent may recover damages.
  • The value of the decedent’s loss of assistance in the home, such as childcare, cooking, mowing the lawn, and maintaining family vehicles, is recoverable.
  • There may be cases where the loss of inheritance can be recovered.

How Can an Injury Lawyer Help Me After an Accident?

If you hire a wrongful death lawyer after a head-on impact crash who knows the legal system well, you will have a better chance of getting a fair settlement. A lawyer who specializes in injury law can help determine fault in accidents and has the resources to conduct an investigation to collect evidence. This evidence is used to support your family’s claim for compensation. An injury lawyer can also assist you in the process since they have experience in cases similar to yours.

In general, accident attorneys know the worth of your case and what compensation you should expect because they have handled wrongful death claims before. A lawyer’s fee does not have to be paid upfront. The lawyers who represent injured people work on a contingency basis, which means they don’t get paid until the case is won.
