Grass Valley Crash Causes Major Injuries

On Friday, January 29, 2021, a Grass Valley crash left at least one person with major injuries. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials reported that the collision happened at night and was between two passenger vehicles. The number of people who sustained injuries was not reported and the cause of the accident remains under official investigation at this time.

Collision Details

The crash occurred at around 7:38 p.m. on Dog Bar Road in a rural area on the far southeastern side of Grass Valley. According to CHP, a white Toyota pickup truck was heading south on Dog Bar while a grey SUV was traveling north and approaching the first vehicle’s location. For reasons that are not known, the two vehicles crashed into each other head-on. The vehicles reportedly both sustained major damage to their front ends and came to a rest blocking both lanes of the rural road.

Response

Police were first alerted to the crash by phone call and responders were immediately dispatched out to the site, arriving shortly after the collision occurred. At the scene, responders determined that at least one of the vehicle occupants had suffered major trauma and called for an ambulance. Further information was not provided in CHP reports.

Investigation

Dog Bar Road remained closed to traffic until around 9:00 p.m. while police investigated the scene and multiple tow trucks worked to remove the wreckage from the area. As CHP’s investigation into this crash continues, officers haven’t stated whether or not they suspect any particular causal factors to have been involved.

Often, double-vehicle accidents occur for complex reasons and many frequent crash factors are things outside of either driver’s control. Non-driver causes of auto accidents can include issues that affect roadway safety like damaged pavement or inadequate lighting as well as defective car parts like brakes, tires, steering systems, accelerator pedals, and more. If non-driver factors like these are proven to have played a role in causing a car crash, a party other than either driver may be considered partially or even fully responsible for damages and held financially liable for the accident.

Calling an Injury Attorney

Suffering a crash injury is likely to have a huge impact on your life. Crash survivors frequently sustain injuries that require an extensive amount of medical care possibly including surgeries, long-term physical therapy, medication use, and more. Affording this care can be a challenge, especially when accident injuries make it difficult to earn money by working your job.

Thankfully, it’s often possible for collision survivors to obtain payments for these damages by filing personal injury claims with the help of an experienced personal injury attorney. If you want to learn more about what specific payments may be available to you for your case, the best thing you can do is seek direct advice from a Grass Valley personal injury lawyer.
