The sedan driver was also transported to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Four firefighters were taken to a hospital as well, also with non-life-threatening trauma. Compensation in Accident Injury Claims

When a negligent driver causes a collision that injures someone in a Stockton multiple-vehicle crash, the injured party can recover compensation in several key areas. However, the operator of a fire truck, in the performance of their duties, cannot be held liable for accident injuries. Compensation recovery after a negligent driver caused an accident include:

  • Medical: Injured persons can recover costs for all medical expenses resulting from the accident. This includes ambulance and hospitalization fees, surgeries, doctor’s visits, medications, and rehabilitation treatments. Keeping receipts allows victims to also claim out-of-pocket expenses for related costs like gas or parking. Should the injury persist at the time of settlement, your attorney will calculate future costs and incorporate them into the settlement.
  • Wages: Injured parties who lose wages due to time off work for recovery can claim these lost earnings. If an injury forces the person who suffered injuries to accept a lower-paying job, they can recover the pay difference. In cases of permanent disability, they can claim lost wages up until the anticipated retirement age. It also includes compensation for the value of their job perks, such as tips, bonuses and pension and insurance benefits.
  • Pain and Suffering: Injured persons are entitled to compensation for both physical and emotional distress, which they can recover with the assistance of their injury lawyer. Emotional distress is common following an accident, and some people experience symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. If they have to seek professional treatment to deal with their symptoms, they can recover that cost.
