Modesto February 2019 Community Events

Modesto is in the center of Stanislaus County, and the city is continually enhanced by its historical background, economic advancement, and cultural diversity. If you are within Stanislaus County and are looking for an exciting city to spend your time in, Modesto is the biggest city in the county and therefore holds many ongoing events. Whether you are a fan of theater, gourmet four course meals, or improv shows, I have a local event this month that you are guaranteed to enjoy.

Valentine’s Day Beefsteak Dinner

Date: Thursday, February 14, 2019

Time: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Location: 822 9th Street, Modesto, CA 95354

Admission: $99 – $109 tickets

This event is an optional Black Tie affair, meaning that formal dress is encouraged but not required. You will be traveling back in time to the 1920s with a talented brass band for the night. The night will start off with a Giggle Water cocktail, a beer mug to take home, and an apron. All guests will be seated at a communal table prior to the beginning of the four-course meal. The first course will include cheese, apple butter, and an assortment of bread. The second course will include raw oysters and a smoked shrimp cocktail. The third course will include meat sliders, garlic bacon aioli-infused potato wedges, and smoked tri-tip. The fourth course will include strawberries & cream, apple pie, and a caramel candied pecan pull apart bread.

Whose Live Anyway

Date: Thursday, February 14, 2019

Time: 8:00 p.m.

Location: 1000 I Street, Modesto, CA 95354

Admission: $19 – $79 tickets

This 90-minute show will consist of clean, hilarious, improvised comedy and song. As an audience-interactive performance, you will get to suggest the direction of the show. Improv masters Jeff Davis, Joel Murray, and Greg Proops will have the audience gasping for air with the shockingly witty scenes that are created on the spot. A few lucky audience members also will be called up to the stage!

The Flick, The Play

Date: Saturday, February 23, 2019

Time: 8:00 p.m.

Location: 1214 K Street, Modesto, CA 95354

Admission: $25 tickets

An old movie theater in desperate need of renovation will be the backdrop for this play that is set in central Massachusetts. Three underpaid employees with underwhelming job duties attend to one of the last remaining film projectors in the entire state. This excruciating and hilarious storyline has real implications on the modern world, as it pleads for originality in a fast-paced society.
