Fatal Single Vehicle Accident Near Fresno County

I’m Ed Smith, a Fresno car accident lawyer. A man was driving his pickup truck near Orange Cove on the evening of Friday, September 29, 2017. Unfortunately, this would be the last drive the man would take in his vehicle due to a tragic car accident.

We extend our deepest thoughts and condolences to the loved ones of the man that passed away in this devastating single vehicle accident.

What Happened?

A man was driving his pickup truck along Cove Road in the vicinity of Central Avenue at approximately 8:30 pm. For unknown reasons, he lost control of his vehicle and drove into the canal. A witness stopped and reported to 911 that a party was still inside the vehicle.

Was He Injured?

Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene. Crews located the man inside the vehicle upon arrival. Unfortunately, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

What Caused the Accident?

It is still too early to determine what caused the accident. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is handling the investigation. It usually takes two weeks for a Traffic Collision Report to be processed by CHP. When someone has lost their life in an auto accident, it is important to contact an experienced Fresno car accident lawyer who can take the time to properly investigate the cause of an accident.

Single Vehicle Accidents

Single vehicle accidents are not always caused by driver error. Such accidents are sometimes caused by phantom vehicles, hit-and-run drivers and roadway defects. When a party has been involved in a single vehicle accident potentially caused by the fault of another party, it is important to document all evidence. Documenting the time and date of the accident, taking photographs of the accident scene and filing a Traffic Collision Report with the appropriate law enforcement agency is crucial. It is very important to have this information in order to file a claim with your insurance company. Having sufficient records and evidence is helpful when filing a claim with your own insurance carrier. Consult with an experienced Fresno car accident lawyer to protect your rights in a single vehicle accident.

Protecting Yourself after a Car Accident

If you have suffered injuries or damages in an accident, it is vital to obtain medical attention as soon as possible. Documenting all your symptoms with your medical provider is essential in finding the right treatment options for your injuries. Also, be sure to keep all of your medical appointments. Avoid having gaps in your treatment. Your case will be significantly weakened even if you miss only one appointment. Insurance adjusters may question the nature of your injuries and believe that you did not feel the need to maintain your appointment. This may result in lowered or denied claim compensation.
