Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Carmen Street
The Fremont Police Department reported a recent fatal pedestrian crash on Carmen Street and Driscoll Road. The accident took place at approximately 5:25 p.m. and was said to have involved an SUV.

A preliminary report by officials revealed that a man was walking his bike in the bicycle lane along the side of Driscoll Road at the time of the incident. For unknown reasons, the SUV allegedly veered into the bike lane, where it crashed into the man. Sadly, he was declared deceased at the scene. Officials have recently identified the decedent as Yuan Li, 71, of Fremont.
A spokesman for Fremont PD indicated that the SUV driver remained at the scene, was uninjured, and did not present any signs of impairment. Authorities also said that they will be utilizing video surveillance footage of the fatal pedestrian accident in their investigation. Additional information on the crash was not immediately available.
