On the evening of Wednesday, December 21, 2022, the California Highway Patrol reported a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian accident on Marsh Road in Pacheco. The crash occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Marsh Road in the vicinity of Mobile Road, officials said.

CHP traffic officers received a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision near the intersection of Mobile Road and Marsh Road. When officials arrived at the scene, they located a female pedestrian down in the road.
Firefighters from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District performed life-saving measures on the woman. Sadly, she was declared deceased shortly after 9:00 p.m. Her identity has not yet been released due to pending family notification.
Initial reports by authorities indicated the car involved in the pedestrian accident left the scene before the arrival of investigators. Officials have declared the incident a hit-and-run pedestrian accident and do not have information on the suspect vehicle or its driver.
