Authorities reported a fatal pedestrian accident on Concord Boulevard and Denkinger Road. Officers with the Concord Police Department (Concord PD) received a report of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle shortly after 7:20 a.m.

A preliminary report by Concord PD revealed that a woman was crossing Concord Boulevard when she was hit by a vehicle driven by a 69-year-old man. The driver remained at the scene and was reported to be cooperative with officials.
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital for immediate treatment. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries during hospitalization. Authorities have identified the decedent as 72-year-old Evangelina Marquez of Union City. Additional information on the pedestrian accident was not immediately available.
