Fatal Nice Pedestrian Accident Occurs Near the Lakeside Area

A Nice pedestrian accident claimed one life Friday, January 23 after a vehicle struck a woman on Highway 20 in Lake County, northeast of Lakeport. The collision happened around 7:17 p.m. on Highway 20, west of Nice. According to emergency dispatch reports by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a vehicle traveling westbound hit a female pedestrian who was found lying in the roadway. 

Fatal Nice Pedestrian Accident Under Investigation

Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Cal Fire units were dispatched to the scene, and the coroner was notified shortly after the initial call. The reporting party remained on scene, using her vehicle to block traffic until authorities arrived. The identity of the deceased pedestrian has not yet been released pending family notification. The incident remains under investigation to determine the circumstances leading up to the fatal collision.
