Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Marina Drive
The California Highway Patrol reported a fatal motorcycle crash involving a U.S. postal truck along Marina Drive in the Santa Barbara neighborhood of Hope Ranch on May 2, 2023. The collision occurred shortly after 4:50 p.m. on Marina Drive at Alisa Lane, according to officials.

A preliminary report by CHP traffic officers indicated that a driver of a U.S. Postal Service truck was making a left-hand turn from Marina Drive and onto Alisa Lane. While doing so, the truck entered the path of a motorcycle rider resulting in an accident. The biker allegedly struck the right side of the truck.
Sadly, the biker was declared deceased at the crash site. The decedent has recently been identified by the Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Office as Michael Joseph Figone, 45, of Santa Barbara. Additional information on the fatal motorcycle crash on Marina Drive in Hope Ranch was unavailable.
