What is a Wrongful Death Claim?

A motorcycle accident that results in an unexpected loss of a loved one may throw a family into overwhelming grief and devastation. Not only will survivors have to plan how their lives will go after the loss, but they also have to deal with the financial hardship that may occur following the tragedy. It is not usual for survivors to deal with high expenses from end-of-life medical care or funeral services to wondering how they will be able to make ends meet, particularly if the decedent was the primary provider of the household.

One way to protect a family’s future is to bring a wrongful death claim against the party or entity responsible for their loved one’s demise. Such cases provide the basis that a party or entity’s failure to exercise due care placed a decedent in a preventable accident. A compassionate and experienced Concord wrongful death lawyer can help surviving family members through the legal process and seek maximum compensation on their behalf.

The unexpected death of a close relative is much more than financial hardship. Each survivor may endure intangible harm. Survivors may be entitled to the financial recovery of loss of companionship, protection, and care, and mental anguish in addition to reimbursement for lost future financial support, funeral service costs, medical bills, and more.
