How Can an Attorney Help Our Family with a Wrongful Death Case?

Coming to terms with the loss of a family member is never easy, particularly if the loss occurred suddenly and because of a motorcycle crash. When a person loses their life in a motorcycle accident, it may often be described as a devastating event that was no one’s fault. However, a review by an experienced accident attorney with years of experience handling wrongful death cases will reveal that the loss of life could have been prevented and was the result of someone else’s negligence.

Surviving family members may seek compensation in a wrongful death claim that includes economic and non-economic damages. These refer to the intangible losses and financial hardship that survivors have experienced because of the loss of life. This may include expenses for treatment of the deceased’s final injury, funeral expenses arising from the loved one’s death, loss of affection, care, and love, lost future financial support, mental anguish, and more.

An experienced Fresno wrongful death lawyer will know the best way to proceed with compiling evidence that is in support of the amount of compensatory damages sought in a fatal motorcycle accident claim. The attorney will also work with expert witnesses, such as an economist and accident reconstruction expert, to prove the sequence of events leading up to the crash and the reasonable value of losses incurred.
