Hi, I’m Ed Smith, a Cameron Park Motorcycle Accident Attorney. A man riding his motorcycle on Ice House Road has died after a tragic collision on Sunday, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP.)

What Happened?

Sixty-one-year-old, Daniel Austin, from Fair Oaks “violently” struck a Dodge Ram 1500, driven by Richard Bennet of Vacaville, after riding his motorcycle through a curve on the road and passing over the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic. The Dodge Ram was towing a boat trailer that was hauling a 28-foot boat when it was struck. The accident occurred on Sunday, August 14th around 12:30 in the afternoon.

The Driver of the Dodge, Bennet, tried to steer clear of the accident by veering to the shoulder dirt road, but was unable to avoid the collision. The motorcycle hit the front left wheel of the Dodge truck, slid and spin out onto its side. The truck was left blocking the dirt shoulder and northbound lane, causing traffic delays for an hour.

After rolling across the road, the motorcyclist, Daniel Austin, perished on the way to the local hospital, said CHP. Austin was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Neither the driver nor passenger of the Dodge Ram suffered any injuries.
