Fatal Dixon Collision

On Saturday, November 4, 2017, a man lost his life after his vehicle crashed into a rural Solano irrigation canal near Dixon, trapping him inside his vehicle. The wreck was not found for several hours after it occurred.

What Happened?

According to reports from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the single-vehicle accident was reported at around 7:50 a.m. A caller alerted CHP to a crash on Dixon Avenue West near the intersection of Jahn Road in which a vehicle had overturned and crashed into a canal operated by the Solano Irrigation District. The canal was located in a rural, unincorporated area in Solano County west of Dixon and Northeast of Vacaville.

After preliminary investigations, CHP released a report indicating that the accident had happened at approximately 12:30 a.m. when the vehicle had been driving west along Dixon Avenue West and veered off of the road into the adjacent canal, overturning in the process.

Fatal Injuries and Response

The driver of the vehicle reportedly received fatal injuries during the incident, although the specific nature of his injuries was not reported. Authorities at the Solano County Coroner’s Office were able to identify the deceased as 28-year-old Dixon resident Adrian M. Magallonverdin.

We at autoaccident.com would like to extend our sincere sympathies to Magollonverdin’s family and friends.

Clearing the Canal

CHP reported that work crews were at the scene of the accident for several hours in order to get the proper type of tow vehicle to pull Magallonverdin’s car out of the canal. The cleanup did not cause major traffic on the rural road.

Investigation

Authorities do not currently know why Magollonverdin’s vehicle veered off of the roadway and have not reported what factors they suspect to have been at play. Parties who have information that may help authorities better understand the crash have been asked to contact CHP’s non-emergency telephone number, 1-800-TELL-CHP or call the Solano CHP Office by dialing 428-2100. Callers have been instructed to refer to the Dixon Avenue West Crash.
