Fatal Crash on Winton Avenue in Hayward
The Hayward Police Department recently reported a fatal crash on Thunderbird Place and West Winton Avenue. The incident took place around 3:00 a.m. and involved two vehicles, one of which was parked at the time of the incident, Hayward PD said.
Details on the Fatal Crash Involving Parked Car on Winton Avenue in Hayward
A preliminary traffic incident report by Hayward PD revealed that a man was sitting inside a parked vehicle in the area. For unknown reasons, another vehicle collided with the parked car. Both vehicles were said to have sustained major damage from the collision. Officials at the scene located the occupant inside the parked vehicle. Sadly, that party was declared deceased at the crash site.
Authorities indicated that the occupants in the other involved car allegedly left the scene before investigators arrived. However, they have since contacted law enforcement and are cooperating with officials.
