One Killed in Crash Near Redding

Authorities have stated that a major accident took place in a rural area near Redding on Saturday, March 23, 2019. The collision left one person with severe trauma that tragically cost him his life. The fatally injured person was identified by Shasta County officials as Michael Tyler Owens, a 29-year-old man from the community of Shingletown. Additionally, two other people also suffered injuries during the accident. The extent of their injuries has not yet been reported by medical officials. I would like to send my sincere sympathies to Mr. Owens’ friends and family members during this difficult time.

Crash Details

California Highway Patrol (CHP) has stated that the car accident happened at around 12:45 p.m. to the east of Shingletown on Highway 44 close to the Airport Way intersection. The accident involved a Toyota Highlander as well as a small sedan. Further information about how the vehicles collided has not been provided by CHP.

Responders were immediately called to the crash location. Upon arriving, medics found that Owens had suffered major trauma. Sadly, he could not be revived and was declared deceased on-site. It is currently unclear whether or not either of the two other injured parties was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Investigation

CHP has told local news channels that they are actively investigating this collision in order to determine the cause. However, officers haven’t mentioned which factors, if any, are currently suspected. Multiple vehicle accidents can happen for a variety of factors and are sometimes caused by more than one of these issues. Common causes of serious car accidents include driving while distracted, faulty auto products, reckless driving behaviors like speeding, using intoxicants while driving, and more.

Fatal Accidents and Liability

When a person loses their life in a car crash, it can be devastating to the people they love. Not only do people have to deal with the intense process of grieving a sudden death, but they are also frequently left with financial concerns related to losing a member of their household. Together, these issues can cause a huge amount of stress and can leave people feeling completely overwhelmed. However, those who have lost a loved one because of another party’s negligence can seek to recover for their losses through wrongful death claims. Wrongful death claims aim to provide families of decedents with the money that they need to be financially stable after tragic accidents.

While no amount of money can replace the presence of a loved one in your life, wrongful death payments can help families to focus on the process of recovering personally and emotionally by relieving financial stress. Additionally, people are often to claim payments for emotional damages in addition to economic losses. If you believe that you have a viable wrongful death case, the best thing to do is to get in touch with a local Redding wrongful death lawyer who can listen to your story and help you understand the details of your situation.
