Fatal Car Accident Near Tracy

I’m Ed Smith, a Tracy car accident lawyer. A car accident involving two vehicles took place near Tracy during the evening hours of Friday, July 28, 2017. The collision, sadly, caused one victim to suffer fatal injuries. I want to extend my condolences to the family of the victim in their time of sorrow.

What Happened?

A two-car accident occurred along Interstate 580 in the vicinity of the junction for Interstate 5 at approximately 9:51 pm. Details regarding how the crash happened were not immediately available. However, reports indicated that one vehicle allegedly veered across the southbound lanes and came to a rest along the westbound side of the freeway.

Was Anybody Injured?

Emergency personnel was immediately dispatched to the scene of the car accident. When they arrived, they located two victims that appeared to have suffered major injuries and one victim that was pinned inside a vehicle. An air ambulance was called to take the victims to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, one person lost their life due to the collision. The victim’s identity has not yet been released due to the pending notification of family members.

What Caused the Accident?

A cause of the accident has not yet been released due to ongoing investigation. A Traffic Collision Report usually takes one to two weeks to be processed. Sometimes, a traffic report may contain errors relating to fault. It is important, especially when a victim has suffered fatal injuries, to contact an experienced car accident lawyer to study the accident scene and the sequence of events leading up to the collision to pinpoint liability.

Car Accidents Involving Uninsured/Under-insured Motorists

Uninsured/Under-insured Motorist Protection (UM) is a type of benefit that provides coverage to protect yourself and the passengers in your vehicle. These benefits may provide payment of damages that resulted from an at-fault motorist who has no liability insurance or a driver who does not have enough insurance to compensate you for your expenses. Also, these benefits can cover losses resulting from a phantom driver or a hit-and-run driver. Although UM coverage is optional, it is vital to add to your insurance policy to protect the best interest of you and your loved ones.
