Fairfield Multiple Vehicle Crash Causes Injuries

Police stated that a Fairfield multiple vehicle crash left at least one person with injuries on Monday, October 21, 2019. The collision reportedly took place on a highway location on the western edge of the city and involved five separate vehicles. Updates from California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicated that none of the injured parties suffered major trauma, and no collision survivors were taken to the hospital by emergency ambulance following the crash. CHP has also reported that the cause of this accident is under investigation.

Crash Information

The collision reportedly took place at about 9:50 a.m. Accident witnesses called in to report that a collision had occurred on the eastbound side of Highway Interstate 80 close to the off-ramp for Highway Interstate 680 in the Cordelia area. Details about the impact that started the collision were not available, but five vehicles eventually became involved in the wreck.

While response and initial investigations were underway, police blocked traffic off on three of I-80’s eastbound lanes, causing major traffic backups. Highway lanes were reportedly cleared and open to vehicles at around 10:45 p.m. Police indicated that at least one person suffered trauma during the crash.

Delayed Symptoms after Accident Injuries

After being involved in a crash, people are often left with injuries that they don’t notice for hours, days, or even weeks after the collision took place. Furthermore, because our bodies release adrenaline in stressful situations, many people don’t even realize how serious the impact of an accident was. It’s common for accident survivors to walk away from crashes with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord trauma, or other conditions that worsen over time.

In some cases, injuries with delayed symptoms can lead to serious or even deadly complications and secondary injuries if left untreated. For this reason, it’s important to make sure that you visit your doctor after you have been in a crash. Tell them that you’ve been in an accident, and your physician will be able to make sure that you haven’t sustained any injuries you haven’t noticed.

Filing an Injury Claim

Recovering from a crash injury isn’t easy, and survivors can face many challenges while trying to regain their health. During such a stressful time, it’s important to focus on taking care of yourself and making sure that you can do everything possible to heal. Unfortunately, many people worry that they will be unable to recover after a crash because they can’t afford necessary medical procedures, medications, or therapy.

These concerns are often overwhelming for injured parties and their families. However, crash survivors can often get their damages covered in full by filing a personal injury claim against negligent parties involved in the crash. To learn more about the process of filing such a claim, it’s a good idea to speak one-on-one with a Fairfield personal injury lawyer who has dealt with cases like yours in the past.
