Fairfield Man Severely Injured in Napa County Accident

According to officials, three individuals suffered injuries during a vehicle accident that took place near Lake Berryessa in Napa County recently. The accident involved only one vehicle and took place in the early evening. According to reports, two of the vehicle occupants suffered minor trauma while a backseat passenger, identified as a 35-year-old Fairfield man, was left with major injuries. The accident remains under investigation by California Highway Patrol (CHP) at this time.

Crash Details

The accident reportedly took place at around 5:46 on Highway 128, otherwise known as Berryessa/Knoxville Road. Three people had been traveling in a Jeep Wrangler when, according to CHP, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The Jeep drifted off of the roadway and struck a roadside embankment.

Responders were dispatched to the crash location directly after police received notification. When they arrived at the crash site, emergency personnel found that the driver of the vehicle, a 35-year-old resident of Suisun, had suffered minor injuries. The front-seat passenger, a 34-year-old Vallejo man, was also found with minor trauma indicated by a complaint of pain. Responders reported that they found the Fairfield man with severe injuries and had him flown by helicopter ambulance to the Queen of the Valley Medical Center

Investigation

As officers of CHP are looking into this incident, a full report of suspected factors has not yet been made available. However, officers noted that the driver is suspected to have fallen asleep while operating his vehicle. Police have stated that the accident did not involve any alcohol or drugs.

Recovering After a Crash

After suffering serious injuries in a car accident, people often face a series of difficult challenges. Firstly, recovering your health can be painful and often takes a long period of time. During recovery, many individuals have to significantly change the way they live, and this can be very emotionally difficult. On top of this, many crash survivors are unable to return to their job either temporarily or permanently. This can make it hard to pay for necessary expenses, especially when you are facing steep medical expenses for surgeries, medicines, hospital stays, and more.

In order to cover the costs of medical bills as well as lost income and other damages, people who have been hurt in car accidents can file personal injury claims and claim the payments they deserve from negligent parties and/or insurance companies. Negligent parties often include the manufacturers of dangerous auto products, government entities, and more. To learn more about whether or not you may be able to recover payments for your damages, it’s best to speak personally to an attorney who has handled cases like yours.
