Explore Redding

I’m Ed Smith, a Redding personal injury lawyer. Redding, California is located in Shasta County. Redding is the largest city located in the beautiful Shasta Cascade region. Redding is located on the Sacramento River. In the city’s early days, the Sacramento River was the main source of power and transportation. Redding is the fourth-largest city in the Sacramento Valley. There is something for everyone to enjoy in the beautiful city of Redding.

National Recreation Trails

Redding’s Sacramento River Trail crosses the famous Sundial Bridge right in the heart of the city. The Sacramento River Rail Trail extends north, all the way up to the Shasta Dam and is nestled next to an abandoned historic railway. The trails are popular spots for locals and visitors alike. The trails span more then 17.4 miles. Along the trails you can enjoy the views, stop and let the children play on one of the play structures or snap some pictures of wildlife.

Turtle Bay Museum

The Turtle Bay Museum is home to interactive exhibits. You can enjoy underwater fish viewing, exploring historic re-creations, play and explore with various scientific equipment and much more! This is a wonderful place for families with children of all ages to checkout! There’s nothing better than watching your children learn while they play!

Sundial Bridge

Redding’s Sundial Bridge spans 700 feet giving pedestrians and bicyclists a beautiful path over the Sacramento River. As the bridge’s name suggests, it forms a very large sundial. The over 200-foot tall mast is formed by the bridge’s support tower and faces due north at a cantilevered angel, making it possible to serve as the sundial’s gnomon. On the northern side of the bridge is a sundial, which catches the shadow from the bridge’s gnomon.

Whiskeytown Lake

Whiskeytown Lake is a favorite spot for locals! Pack up a picnic lunch and spend a day enjoying the multiple recreational activities the lake has to offer. Swimming, boating, fishing, and camping are just a few of the perks of this lake! Whiskeytown is the lake to hit if you fancy fishing; the variety of fish that call this lake home is quite impressive. Get your line wet and test your luck catching one of the following:

  • Small mouth bass
  • Rainbow trout
  • German brown trout
  • Spotted bass
  • Large mouth bass
  • Kokanee salmon.
