On the night of May 31, 2025, a 34-year-old man riding an electric scooter southbound on Park Drive in Cottonwood was fatally struck by a westbound Ford F-250 traveling on Gas Point Road. The incident occurred around 10 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Coroner Responds to Fatal Crash Scene

The Shasta County Coroner’s Office confirmed that a deputy coroner investigator was dispatched to the scene near the intersection of Gas Point Road and Park Drive. The victim was pronounced dead by emergency responders. A postmortem examination is pending as the investigation remains ongoing with both the CHP and the Coroner’s Office involved.

Driver Stopped and Called for Help After Discovering Victim
