Driver Sustains Severe Injuries In Redding Car Crash

On Thursday, October 15, 2020, one person was left with major injuries following a serious Redding car crash. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the accident only involved one passenger vehicle and occurred at night on the very southern edge of the city.  Whether or not there were any passengers in the vehicle at the time of the collision has not been reported. Additionally, CHP is actively looking into what could have caused this crash.

Accident Information

The crash took place at about 10:12 p.m. near South Bonnyview Road. Reports from CHP stated that a black and gold-colored Dodge pickup truck was driving on a rural road when, for unknown reasons, the driver seemed to have lost control. The truck drove off-road and entered a nearby wooded area where its front-driver side crashed directly into a tree. The crash caused major damage to the front end of the truck.

After CHP was alerted about the accident, they rushed responders to the scene. When officials reached the site, they discovered that the driver had been ejected through the front windshield of the truck. Medics determined that the man had suffered serious trauma and had him rushed to a nearby hospital via ambulance so that he could be given immediate medical care. Updates on his health condition haven’t been made available.

Investigation of Redding Car Crash

As their collision investigation continues, CHP officers haven’t stated what factors, if any, they suspect could have played a role in the crash. Even solo-vehicle accidents can be complex cases and are frequently caused by more than one thing. Additionally, many very common vehicle accident factors aren’t under driver control. These factors include causes like defective truck parts, issues with roadway design, and more.

Ejection and Accident Injuries

Being ejected from a vehicle has the potential to cause extreme injuries, and most crashes involving an ejection cause major trauma. This is largely because once occupants are outside of the vehicle, they are no longer protected by airbags, seatbelts, or walls of steel. Ejections can happen for a number of reasons, including faulty or inadequate safety restraints, poor vehicle design, and more.

Calling an Attorney

Recovering your health after a car accident can be a major challenge. For many, accident injury recovery may require major medical procedures that often include invasive surgeries in addition to medicines, physical therapy sessions, and more.

Not only are these procedures taxing, but they are also expensive, and many collision survivors worry about how they’ll be able to afford their treatment. This issue can be even more worrisome if your injuries have had an effect on your ability to earn an income.

Because these concerns are so serious, it’s vital that you reach out to a Redding personal injury lawyer to get advice about claiming compensation from insurance companies and/or at-fault parties for the damages you have suffered.
