Rocky Ridge Drive Hit-and-Run Motorist Crashes Into Two Vehicles

A driver in a hit-and-run crash in Roseville is being sought by authorities after striking two vehicles. The incident, according to the Roseville Police Department, occurred recently on Rocky Ridge Drive around 10:27 in the morning. A Toyota Tacoma struck the rear of an SUV and continued on, striking an additional vehicle close to Lead Hill. It was not reported whether injuries were suffered in the collisions.

Driver in Hit-and-Run Crash Followed

The driver of another vehicle tried to follow the motorist in the Toyota, but that person reportedly drove through a red light and continued on. The pickup was spotted once again along west Miners Ravine Drive. The police department in Roseville is asking the public’s help in locating the driver.

Reasons a Driver Hits and Runs

There are a number of reasons a driver strikes a vehicle, pedestrian, bicycle rider or others and then flees the scene of the accident. Some of those reasons include:

  • The driver is drunk or has been using drugs and does not want to face the penalties if caught.
  • The hit-and-run driver does not have car insurance or doesn’t want points added to their driving record.
  • The driver may have taken the vehicle without permission from its owner.
  • The motorist behind the wheel may have outstanding warrants or unpaid tickets.
  • The vehicle is company- or employer-owned, and the driver doesn’t want anyone to find out that someone was injured in a crash.
  • The driver has drugs or an open bottle in the vehicle.

Locating a Hit-and-Run Driver

My office has a good record of locating hit-and-run drivers because we conduct our own investigation in addition to working with authorities. Our team of investigators heads right away to the accident site to collect the following evidence required to support your claim, in addition to others.

  • The investigators go over the police report looking for errors and talk to any witnesses.
  • They perform accident reconstruction.
  • Surveillance cameras are sought from traffic cameras, phones and other sources.
  • Government negligence is looked for to see if it contributed to the accident. If it is because of a malfunctioning light, poor lighting or other factors, the government agency can be held liable for injury damages.

Our lawyers use the gathered evidence to construct a case that benefits our client, and it is used either in insurance company negotiations or to prepare a court case.

Collecting Injury Compensation by Using Insurance

In many cases, the hit-and-run driver can be located. However, if they can’t, there is another way in which the injured person can be compensated. This is through the use of uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage, which is offered as an option to all California drivers. It is commonly carried by motorists in California because there are a high number of drivers who either have no insurance or are underinsured.

If the injured person does not carry this optional policy, but another member of the household family does, it can be used instead. Using this policy does not affect the rates in the future.
