Driver Loses Control and Causes Car Crash Into Pole

A car crash in Lincoln on May 6 occurred when the driver of a Chevy Corvette went into a spin and hit a pole. The accident happened along southbound S.R. 65 just north of the Ferrari Ranch road on-ramp around 1:30 p.m. The report by the California Highway Patrol stated that the Corvette went into a spin before crashing into a pole.

Vehicle Ends Up on Both Sides of the Roadway

Part of the vehicle ended up in the center divider, while the other section was found about 100 feet off the roadway along the right-hand side. Two people were riding in the vehicle at the time of the car crash. Emergency responders with the Lincoln Fire Department arrived to assess the injuries.

Head Injury Reported in Car Crash

A male was reported as having a head injury, which was determined to be minor. A tow truck with a flatbed trailer was required to transport the vehicle from the scene. CHP Traffic accident investigators are examining the scene to determine what caused the car collision.

Single-Vehicle Car Accidents and Their Causes

Around 95 percent of all car accidents are because of driver error. In some cases, the driver was speeding. In others, the driver was distracted, intoxicated or otherwise committing a traffic infraction.

Other Causes of a Single-Vehicle Car Accident

However, a single-vehicle car crash can be caused by hit-and-run drivers, government roadway negligence or defective auto parts. These crashes can have serious consequences for victims and families, especially when the driver responsible or a third party is at fault. To ensure safety on the road, it is important to understand the causes of single-vehicle accidents:

  • Hit-and-run drivers: When hit-and-run drivers fail to remain present after an accident occurs with another vehicle, it can result in serious injuries and fatalities. If a victim was injured as a result of a hit-and-run driver’s actions, they may be able to seek compensation in some cases if the negligent motorist is found.
  • Government roadway negligence: Poorly maintained roads, defective traffic signals and signs or inadequate lighting can all contribute to single-vehicle accidents. If a victim was injured due to government negligence, they may be able to take legal action against the responsible agency. Because there is a six-month time limit to file a claim, seeking help from an injury lawyer might be advised.
  • Defective auto parts: When vehicle parts such as brakes, tires, airbags or steering columns are defective, it can lead to a single-vehicle crash. In these cases, victims may have grounds for an auto product liability lawsuit against the part’s manufacturer.

If you or someone you love has been involved in a single-vehicle accident caused by any of these factors, consulting with an experienced personal injury lawyer is strongly advised. An attorney can help you understand your rights and pursue the compensation you deserve for any injuries or losses suffered.
