Driver Injured in Walerga Road Rollover Accident

A rollover accident occurred in Antelope on September 17 that injured the driver after losing control. The collision occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m. along southbound Walerga Road just north of Old Dairy Drive. Authorities with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) are determining what made that driver lose control of their vehicle.

Vehicle Strikes Two Fixed Obstacles Before Rollover

The driver first struck a pole and a tree prior to their vehicle overturning four times. The driver suffered injuries in the crash, although details were not provided. An investigation is underway by CHP traffic crash detectives to determine what happened.

Why a Rollover Accident Happens

Rollover crashes are often caused by the driver’s negligence. These collisions can, however, be caused by other factors as well. Retaining the vehicle is important so it can be examined for other problems that led to the collision. Several factors can lead to a single-vehicle crash, including:

  • Defective auto parts: An accident involving a solo vehicle could be caused by mechanical problems such as steering, brakes and accelerator malfunctions. Product liability claims may be filed against manufacturers, distributors and others in these cases. There is no need to prove negligence in cases like this, only that the product was used as intended and unaltered.
  • Dangerous roads: In the case of faulty road design or poor maintenance, the government entity may be liable. Furthermore, potholes, poor lighting, debris and lack of maintenance can lead to rollover accidents. The statute of limitations for government entities is only six months, so it is advisable to consult an injury attorney right away if you wish to file a claim.
